Soccer Game Preview: Rialto vs. Carter

The Rialto Knights will face off against the Carter Lions at 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Rialto headed into their last contest having not scored more than one goal for three straight, but Summit let them put that streak behind them. Rialto came out on top against Summit by a score of 4-2 on Monday. Considering the Knights' offense had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

They hit Summit with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Cesar Castaneda, Kevin Hernandez, Jhonny Perez, and Moises Juanta.

Meanwhile, Carter came into Monday's game having lost five straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They won by a goal and slipped past Fontana 2-1. The win was all the more spectacular given the Lions' disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 657th, while the Steelers are ranked 78th).

Rialto's victory bumped their record up to 10-7-2. As for Carter, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-9-3.

Rialto beat Carter 2-0 in their previous meeting two weeks ago. Will Rialto repeat their success, or does Carter have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
