Basketball Recap: Glen Lake Picks Up Ninth Consecutive Win

Glen Lake had already won eight in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17.1 points) and they went ahead and made it nine on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 82-45 win over the Suttons Bay Norsemen. Given the Lakers' advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 38th, while the Norsemen are ranked 464th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Leading Glen Lake to victory were Jacob Plamondon and Benji Allen. Plamondon dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 boards, while Allen went 9 for 16 on his way to 21 points and five rebounds. The matchup was Plamondon's ninth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Wade Daniels, who posted nine points.

Glen Lake pushed their record up to 13-1 with the victory, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Suttons Bay, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-8.

Glen Lake will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Leland at 7:00 p.m. Glen Lake is facing Leland at the right time seeing as Leland is stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Suttons Bay, they will host Benzie Central at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Benzie Central will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Suttons Bay surely won't give up without a fight.
