Football Recap: Weldon Chargers vs. Lejeune Devil Pups
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Weldon had no problem doing just that on Friday. They came out on top against the Lejeune Devil Pups by a score of 14-7.
Andrew Finnerty and Connor Shea certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Finnerty picked up 163 receiving yards, while Shea threw for 309 yards and a touchdown.
Weldon's victory bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Lejeune, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-7.
Weldon is on the road again on Friday to play Tarboro at 7:00 p.m. Tarboro will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Weldon surely won't give up without a fight. Lejeune does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
