Basketball Recap: Baker County Wildcats vs. Keystone Heights Indians
The Baker County Wildcats can now show off 12 landslide victories after their most recent game on Thursday. They blew past Keystone Heights 66-35 on the road. Winning may never get old, but Baker County sure is getting used to it with their fifth in a row.
Leading Baker County to victory were Zaniah Blake and Yamise Haygood. Blake scored 21 points along with eight rebounds, while Haygood scored 20 points along with eight steals and seven assists. Haygood is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 18 or more in the last five games she's played. Natalia Strachan was another key contributor, almost dropping a double-double on nine points and nine rebounds.
Baker County's win bumped their record up to 15-5. As for Keystone Heights, they are on a 17-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-20.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Baker County won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Indians at 6:00 p.m. on February 2nd. Baldwin will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 530th, while the Wildcats are ranked 237th). As for Keystone Heights, they will head out on the road to challenge the Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
