Softball Game Preview: Lightridge Lightning vs. Riverside Ram + How To Watch

The Lightridge Lightning will take on the Riverside Ram at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Lightridge will come into the matchup with an undefeated record on the line.

Lightridge barely beat Loudoun Valley the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Lightning were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Vikings on Thursday. Considering the Lightning have won nine games by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Alexa Knapp was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most runs she has posted since back in May of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Avery Sullivan, who went 1-for-4 with one home run.

Lightridge always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .516. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Loudoun Valley only posted an OBP of .136.

Meanwhile, after a string of seven wins, Riverside's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They lost 11-1 to Broad Run. The contest marked the Ram's lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Riverside saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alex McLellan, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

Lightridge's victory bumped their record up to 14-0. As for Riverside, their loss dropped their record down to 11-3.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Lightridge has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.3 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Riverside struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.7 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
