Flag Football Recap: Seven Straight Home Victories for Scripps Ranch

Scripps Ranch proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by 35) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Canyon Crest Academy Ravens 27-24. The Falcons' offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.

Scripps Ranch found their leader in sophomore Kennedy McCabe, who threw for 175 yards and three touchdowns, and also rushed for 57 yards. The Falcons also got help from Lexi Hare, who showed off her sure hands for 88 receiving yards.

Scripps Ranch pushed their record up to 12-6 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 11.7 points on average over those games. As for Canyon Crest Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 11 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season.

Scripps Ranch is taking a road trip to face off against Hoover at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Canyon Crest Academy, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Carlsbad at 5:15 p.m. The Lancers' defense has only allowed 7.4 points per game this season, so the Ravens' offense will have their work cut out for them.
