Softball Recap: Southwest SD's Winning Streak Snapped at Six Games

After a string of six wins, Southwest SD's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They came up short against the San Ysidro Cougars, falling 22-10. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cougars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 23-9 back in March.

Samantha Ramirez made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with five RBI, two doubles, and one run. Another player making a difference was Aketzalli Rodriguez, who scored four runs while going 3-for-3.

Southwest SD's loss dropped their record down to 7-4. As for San Ysidro, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Southwest SD will head out to face off against Montgomery at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for San Ysidro, they will venture away from home to challenge Castle Park at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Cougars are facing the Trojans at the right time seeing as the Trojans are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
