Soccer Game Preview: Minooka vs. Naperville Central

The Minooka Indians will venture away from home to take on the Naperville Central Redhawks at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Minooka is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Plainfield Central just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Saturday. They and the Wildcats finished up their game with a 2-2 draw. The result kept Minooka happy, as they haven't lost a game since April 8th.

Meanwhile, Naperville Central faced Lockport in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Redhawks put the hurt on the Porters with a sharp 7-0 win. Give Naperville Central's defense some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.

Naperville Central's victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-1-1. Those road wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 31 goals over those six contests. Minooka's draw makes their record 7-1-2 this season.

Minooka came out on top in a nail-biter against Naperville Central in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, sneaking past 2-1. Do the Indians have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Redhawks turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
