Palmetto got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was E'Mmya Smith out in front who went 9 for 14 en route to 22 points plus five steals. Sanaii Rich was another key player, going 7 for 12 en route to 15 points plus eight rebounds and five steals.
Palmetto smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Southeast was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were beaten by Bradenton Christian 65-23. That's two games in a row now that the Seminoles have lost by exactly 42 points.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Skyia Robinson, who had eight points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zion McNeal, who posted eight points.
Palmetto now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Southeast, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.
Palmetto beat Southeast 37-30 when the teams last played back in January. The rematch might be a little tougher for Palmetto since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
