Recap: Burlington Cougars vs. Flagler Panthers
The Burlington Cougars scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They claimed a resounding 75-34 victory over Flagler on the road. That 41 points margin sets a new team best for Burlington this season.
It was another big night for Keziah Williams, who scored 45 points along with three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Rowdy Humrich was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with nine rebounds.
When it comes to explaining why Flagler lost, one person who can't be blamed is Rylee Nichols. Despite the final result, he scored eight points. Another player making a difference was Brayden Hill, who scored nine points along with nine rebounds.
Burlington's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-6. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.8 points per game. As for Flagler, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-9.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Burlington will take on Byers at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. That game will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Quincy Eacret and Williams. As for Flagler, they will be playing at home against Elbert at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. Elbert will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
