Basketball Recap: Rank Disadvantage No Problem for North Lamar

North Lamar hadn't done well against Paris recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The North Lamar Panthers managed a 52-46 win over the Paris Wildcats. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Panthers' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 487th, while the Wildcats are ranked 217th).

North Lamar is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-8 record this season. As for Paris, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-6.

North Lamar will square off against Bonham at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Paris, they will welcome Sulphur Springs at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Sulphur Springs will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Paris surely won't give up without a fight.
