The Beatrice Orangemen will venture away from home to take on the Standing Bear Grizzlies at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
Beatrice lost 3-0 to Lincoln Northwest on Thursday.
Beatrice was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the third set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-16, 25-22.
Kara Schuster put forth a good effort for the losing side as she had 13 digs and two assists.
Meanwhile, Standing Bear was able to grind out a solid win over Hastings on Saturday, taking the game 2-0.
Standing Bear easily took the first set, but they let things get interesting in the other. The final score came out to 25-9, 25-21.
Beatrice better focus on containing Reese Pedersen and Lindyn Stutzman as the pair were huge in Standing Bear's win. Pedersen had 11 digs and two assists, while Stutzman had 21 assists. Stutzman is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 21 or more in each of the last five games she's played.
Beatrice's loss dropped their record down to 8-18. As for Standing Bear, they now have a winning record of 16-15.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Tuesday's match: Beatrice has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 5.1 aces per game. However, it's not like Standing Bear struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.8 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Beatrice might still be hurting after the 3-0 defeat they got from Standing Bear in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Can the Orangemen avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
