Lake Gibson is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Haines City on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Braves were dealt a 41-6 defeat at the hands of the Hornets. The Braves were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 27-6.

Meanwhile, Davenport came tearing into Thursday's game with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12 points), and they left with even more momentum. They never let the Hawks get on the board and left with a 19-0 win.

Davenport pushed their record up to 10-2 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 2.0 points on average over those games. As for Lake Gibson, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-6.
