Basketball Recap: Carib Morris Key Part of a Team Effort in Eagles Win

Cresset Christian Academy's tournament run continued when they took on Link Academy on Sunday. The Cresset Christian Academy Eagles strolled past the Link Academy Lions with points to spare, taking the game 71-55. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 15th in North Carolina, while the Lions are ranked 63rd in Missouri), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Cresset Christian Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Carib Morris, who posted 24 points. That's the most points Morris has posted since back in November of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Trinity Jefferson, who had 19 points.

Cresset Christian Academy is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 18-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.8 points per game. As for Link Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-7.

Cresset Christian Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 65-43 win against Aussie Travelers (Brisbane, Australia) on the 7th. As for Link Academy, they will challenge Cardinal Ritter College Prep at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
