Softball Recap: Temple Christian's Win on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Temple Christian entered their tilt with Amelia Academy on Thursday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. They were the clear victors by an 18-7 margin over the Patriots. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 21-4 back in March.

Reagan Hensley made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and six unearned) runs off seven hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 4-for-5 with two stolen bases, five RBI, and three doubles. Those three doubles gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Addison Camden, who scored four runs and stole a base while going 5-for-5. Those five hits gave her a new career-high. Sadie Forster was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while going 1-for-4.

Temple Christian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in five consecutive games.

Temple Christian's win bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Amelia Academy, they are on a 19-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Temple Christian will face off against Faith Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Amelia Academy, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Fuqua at 4:30 p.m. on the 22nd.
