Volleyball Recap: Los Altos Falls Despite Big Games from Christopher Talavera and Nathan Cudiamat

On Wednesday, the Los Altos Conquerors didn't have quite enough to beat the Western Christian Fighting Lancers and fell 3-2. The Conquerors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Los Altos took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 23-25, 18-25, 25-19, 15-8.

Los Altos' defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Nathan Cudiamat, who had 26 assists and 19 digs, and Christopher Talavera, who had 28 digs and two aces. With that strong performance, Cudiamat is now averaging an impressive 10.2 digs per game.

Leading Western Christian to victory were Andrew Barber and Jacob Roberts. Barber had ten digs, while Roberts had 17 kills, 16 digs, and three blocks. The dominant performance gave Roberts a new career-high in kills. Luke Eriksen also deserves some recognition as he had his first digs of the season.

Los Altos' loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Western Christian, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season.

Los Altos didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-2 win against Etiwanda on the 6th. As for Western Christian, they have also already played their next match, a 3-1 victory against San Dimas on the 6th.
