Marquette Catholic was handed a 11-run loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Monday. They had just enough and edged out the Father McGivney Catholic Griffins 3-1. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 9-5 back in March.

Kenna Lievers spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on five hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Kennedy Eveans, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April. Jayla Dickson was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.

Marquette Catholic's victory bumped their record up to 8-12. As for Father McGivney Catholic, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-11.
