Softball Game Preview: Cedar Bluff Tigers vs. Pleasant Valley Raiders

Cedar Bluff is on a three-game streak of home wins, while Pleasant Valley is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Cedar Bluff Tigers will welcome the Pleasant Valley Raiders at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Cedar Bluff is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.2 runs per game this season.

While Cedar Bluff's win against Collinsville wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Cedar Bluff narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Collinsville 6-4. The win continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won four in a row.

Mackenzie Kimmons looked comfortable as she didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. What's more, she posted two strikeouts, the most she's had since back in March of 2024.

At the plate, Kylie Vadon was excellent, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Rylie Walker, who scored a run while going 1-for-4.

Meanwhile, while Pleasant Valley put up some runs on Friday, the same can't be said for Randolph County. Pleasant Valley was the clear victors by a 6-0 margin over Randolph County. Considering the Raiders have won five matches by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Cedar Bluff now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Pleasant Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 10-1.
