Softball Recap: Roosevelt Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Roosevelt entered their tilt with Edison on Wednesday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They were the clear victors by a 16-0 margin over the Tommies. The Teddies have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Tommies, too.

Olivia Wohnoutka was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out six over four innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted over her last 11 matchups. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That triple was her first of the season.

In other batting news, Ricaya Whitmore was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most hits she has posted over her last 11 games. The team also got some help courtesy of Eloisa Lysne, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.

Roosevelt was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .586. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .371 or higher in four consecutive contests.

Roosevelt's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-11. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.5 runs over those games. As for Edison, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.
