Basketball Game Preview: Jennings County Panthers vs. Madison Cubs

The Jennings County Panthers will look to take advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they take on the Madison Cubs at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Jennings County is coming home looking for redemption after taking a loss in their road opener. They lost 72-52 to Charlestown on Tuesday. The Panthers were down 55-32 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Despite their loss, Jennings County saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Nate Dixon, who posted ten points, was perhaps the best of all. Johnny Elkins was another key player, putting up 11 points and six boards.

Meanwhile, Madison came up short against Southwestern on Wednesday, falling 83-58. The defeat continues a trend for the Cubs in their meetings with the Rebels: they've now lost six in a row.

Jennings County beat Madison 74-66 when the teams last played back in December of 2024. Will the Panthers repeat their success, or do the Cubs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
