Baseball Recap: Crystal City Takes a Loss

Veritas Christian Academy hit Crystal City with a four-run third inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Hornets came up short against the Eagles, falling 12-2. The Hornets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Crystal City saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nolan Eisenbeis, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and one run. That triple was Eisenbeis' first of the season. Another was Ricardo Pastrana, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI and one double.

Crystal City's loss dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Veritas Christian Academy, their win bumped their record up to 6-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Crystal City will venture away from home to face off against Herculaneum at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Veritas Christian Academy, they will face off against St. Pius X at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday.
