After two games on the road, Lake Marion is heading back home. They will take on the First Baptist School Hurricanes at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Lake Marion suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Wednesday. They took a serious blow against Oceanside Collegiate Academy, falling 91-32. Lake Marion was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 49-14.
Lake Marion's defeat came about despite a quality game from Patrick Guest, who scored 11 points.
Meanwhile, First Baptist School's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They fell 59-52 to Porter-Gaud. While losing is never fun, First Baptist School can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 129th, while Porter-Gaud is ranked 21st).
Lake Marion's loss dropped their record down to 5-12. As for First Baptist School, their defeat was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 5-9.
Things could have been worse for Lake Marion, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 66-47 loss to First Baptist School in their previous matchup back in December of 2023.
