After losing to Carlinville the last time they met, Litchfield decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Litchfield Purple Panthers pulled ahead with a 44-43 photo finish over the Carlinville Cavaliers on Tuesday.

Carlinville's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dominic Alepra, who went 7-for-17 to rack up 21 points. Alepra continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Tate Duckels, who almost dropped a double-double with 11 points and nine rebounds.

Litchfield's victory bumped their record up to 13-17. As for Carlinville, this is the second loss in a row for them and also nudges their season record down to 13-17.

Looking ahead, Litchfield will challenge Gillespie at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Litchfield is facing Gillespie at the right time seeing as Gillespie is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Carlinville, they will take on Greenville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
