Volleyball Recap: Martins Ferry Beats Barnesville for Their Third Straight Victory

Martins Ferry entered their tilt with Barnesville on Monday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Shamrocks. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 two weeks ago.

Martins Ferry was especially dominant in the fourth set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 22-25, 25-17, 25-12.

Martins Ferry can attribute much of their success to Gracie Lucas, who had nine digs and two aces. That's the most digs Lucas has posted since back in August.

Martins Ferry's victory bumped their record up to 11-4. As for Barnesville, they dropped their record down to 4-11 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Martins Ferry will venture away from home to challenge Buckeye Local at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Barnesville, they will head out to take on Bellaire at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
