Basketball Recap: Au Gres-Sims Takes a Loss

If Au Gres-Sims was riding high fresh off their 54-15 takedown of Whittemore-Prescott last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Au Gres-Sims Wolverines fell 50-40 to the Saginaw Arts & Sciences Academy Dragons on Thursday. The Wolverines were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Dragons apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February.

Au Gres-Sims' defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Saginaw Arts & Sciences Academy, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. After both having extra time off, Au Gres-Sims and Atlanta will shake off the cobwebs and challenge one another at 6:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025. Au Gres-Sims' defense has only allowed 24.8 points per game this season, so Atlanta's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Saginaw Arts & Sciences Academy, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Owendale-Gagetown at 6:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
