Soccer Game Preview: Oakwood/Catlin vs. Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin

Oakwood/Catlin is a perfect 9-0 against Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin since September of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Comets will be playing at home against the Blue Devils at 4:30 p.m. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Oakwood/Catlin sitting on three straight wins and Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin on seven.

Oakwood/Catlin proved they can win big on Monday (they won by four) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over Fisher/Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but Oakwood/Catlin were the better team in the second half.

Meanwhile, it was close, but on Tuesday Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin sidestepped Hoopeston for a 3-2 win. That's two games straight that Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin have won by just one goal.

They hit Hoopeston with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Noah Rice, Gavin High, and Madix Davis.

Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin's victory bumped their record up to 14-3-1. As for Oakwood/Catlin, their win bumped their record up to 16-6.

Oakwood/Catlin skirted past Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin 3-2 in their previous meeting back in September. Do the Comets have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Blue Devils turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
