Football Recap: Guilderland Takes a Loss

Guilderland lost against Christian Brothers Academy back in November of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Flying Dutchmen were dealt a 42-7 loss at the hands of the Brothers. The Flying Dutchmen were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 21-0.

Christian Brothers Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Archie Jones led the charge by throwing for 245 yards and four touchdowns while completing 90.9% of his passes. Thomas Toher helped Jones out on the ground, rushing for 97 yards and a pair of TDs on only 11 carries.

Guilderland's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Christian Brothers Academy, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 5-2.

Coming up, Guilderland will venture away from home to face off against Colonie Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Christian Brothers Academy, they will host Albany at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Brothers will be up against the Falcons' rather soft defense (which has allowed 28.43 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
