Soccer Recap: Hampton Comes Up Short

Hampton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 8-0 to the Locust Grove Wildcats. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Hornets of the 4-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2023.

Hampton's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Locust Grove, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.

Hampton will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Jones County at 7:00 p.m. on February 28th. As for Locust Grove, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Locust Grove challenge the Trinity Christian at 5:30 p.m. on February 24th. Locust Grove is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 4.8 goals per game this season.
