Volleyball Recap: Center Grove Falls Short Against Ranked Roncalli

Center Grove faced Roncalli in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Trojans lost 3-0 to the Royals. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Trojans have suffered since May 18, 2024.

The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-17, 25-14.

Jadyn Mccrory paced Center Grove's offense, picking up 12 kills. Mccrory got some help from Silas Zathang and his 21 assists.

Among those leading the charge was Aiden Hill, who had 15 digs and two assists. He is on a roll when it comes to digs, as he's now had 11 or more in each of the last five games he's played. Chris Griffin also deserves some recognition as he had his first block of the season.

Center Grove's defeat dropped their record down to 17-5-1. As for Roncalli, their victory was their tenth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-3.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Center Grove will square off against rival Tri-West Hendricks at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Roncalli is set to face off against their familiar foe Zionsville at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
