The Sycamore Spartans beat the St. Charles North North Stars 11-6  on Thursday. That looming  11-6 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Spartans yet this  season.
Sycamore got a great performance from  Cal Harbecke as he  struck out six batters over  six innings while giving up  three earned  (and two unearned) runs off   eight  hits (and not a single walk).
 On the hitting side,  Trenton Meisch was a standout: he scored two  runs and  stole a base while going 2-for-3. He also  hit a  double, marking his first of the season.  Davis Collie was another key player,  scoring a  run and  stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
 Sycamore  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .545. That's the best  OBP they've posted all season.
The  victory  got Sycamore back to even at 4-4. As for St. Charles North, their defeat was  their third straight on the road, which  dropped their record down to 4-3.
 Both  squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sycamore will host Belvidere  at 11:00  a.m.  on Saturday. As for St. Charles North, they will be playing in front of their home fans against McHenry  at 10:00  a.m.  on Saturday.
