Baseball Game Preview: Millennium Falcons vs. River Islands Riptide

The Millennium Falcons will face off against the River Islands Riptide at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. Millennium has given up an average of 8.1 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Millennium is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Venture Academy just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Friday. They lost 13-1 to the Mustangs.

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Friday as neither River Islands nor Ben Holt College Prep Academy made it on the board until the sixth inning. The Riptide narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Bobcats 3-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Riptide have posted since February 25th.

River Islands is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.8 runs over those games. As for Millennium, their loss dropped their record down to 7-11.

Millennium got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in May of 2025 against River Islands by a conclusive 16-1 score. Will the Falcons repeat their success, or do the Riptide have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
