Softball Recap: Blacksher Wins Going Away Against Washington County

Blacksher won the last time they faced Washington County and things went their way on Thursday too. Blacksher put the hurt on Washington County with a sharp 16-8 win. Considering Blacksher has won eight matchups by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Blacksher let Laney Saucer and Kadence Dailey run wild. Saucer got on base in all five of her plate appearances with four runs, one triple, and two RBI, while Dailey went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those three hits gave Dailey a new career-high. Averie Hall was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.

Blacksher hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in nine consecutive games.

Blacksher has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Washington County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-13.

Coming up, Blacksher will face off against Chickasaw at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Washington County, they are taking a road trip to take on Cottage Hill Christian Academy at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
