Baseball Game Preview: Westfall Mustangs vs. Grove City Christian Eagles

The Westfall Mustangs will head out on the road to challenge the Grove City Christian Eagles at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday. Westfall will be strutting in after a win while Grove City Christian will be coming in after a defeat.

Grove City Christian will square off against a team with plenty of momentum: Westfall extended their winning streak to three on Tuesday. The Mustangs came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured an 8-7 W against Logan Elm. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Mustangs have posted since March 29, 2024.

Brendan Biegler and AJ Pluta did most of the damage at the plate: Biegler went a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple and one run, while Pluta scored a run while going 3-for-4. Cash Conrad was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Grove City Christian kicked off their season on the road on Thursday and hit a couple of potholes. They took a 13-10 hit to the loss column at the hands of Central Crossing.

Jeff Collins was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Lucas Langsdorf, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Westfall's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Grove City Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
