Recap: Providence Academy Lions vs. Minnetonka Skippers

After a string of eight wins, the Providence Academy Lions's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They suffered a rough 73-48 defeat at the hands of Minnetonka. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Providence Academy has scored all season.

Several Lions players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Maddyn Greenway, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and ten rebounds. That was a full 47.9% of Providence Academy's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Ari Peterson, who scored 12 points along with nine rebounds.

Providence Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 16-3. As for Minnetonka, their victory bumped their record up to 17-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Providence Academy will take on Crosby-Ironton at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Crosby-Ironton will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Minnesota Rankings (they are ranked 47th, while Providence Academy is ranked third). As for Minnetonka, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Hopkins at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopkins has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 1,069 points over their last 14 matchups.
