Softball Recap: Tri-City Christian Turns Things Around After Road Loss

Tri-City Christian's found some homefield redemption this week after a overtime loss to Coastal Academy on Tuesday. The Eagles walked away with a 4-1 victory over the Bishop's Knights. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Knights recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Marissa Chronic spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up ten Ks. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5.2 strikeouts per game.

On the hitting side, Esperanza Villa was incredible, going 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI.

Tri-City Christian's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-4-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Bishop's, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-7-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tri-City Christian will host Francis Parker at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Eagles are facing the Lancers at the right time seeing as the Lancers are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Bishop's, they will be playing at home against Coastal Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
