Baseball Recap: Morgan Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Morgan, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Haddam-Killingworth Cougars by a score of 4-1 on Monday. The win was some much needed relief for the Huskies as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Jack Henry Palazzo spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on five hits and racked up nine Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Wyatt Luke, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Travis Aiken, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Morgan pushed their record up to 12-6 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Haddam-Killingworth, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 9-4.

Looking ahead, Morgan will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Portland at 6:00 p.m. As for Haddam-Killingworth, they will head out to face off against North Branford at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
