Basketball Recap: Centennial Sets Scoring Season-High Against Liberty + How To Watch

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Centennial). They came out on top against the Liberty Lions by a score of 77-64 on Friday. For the Coyotes, this counts as revenge for the 88-84 victory the Lions walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January.

Centennial got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Johnny Rios out in front who shot 47% from the field to rack up 18 points in addition to seven assists and six steals. The matchup was Rios' third in a row with at least 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sekou Sackor, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and ten rebounds.

They weren't the only ones working in the assist department: Centennial was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Despite the loss, Liberty still got an impressive performance from Jacob Hunter, who dropped a double-double with 17 points and 11 boards. Another player making a difference was Trevin Davis, who posted 15 points and eight rebounds.

Centennial's record is now 5-1.

Centennial has already played their next contest, a 64-51 victory against Apollo on the 9th. As for Liberty, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 64-57 win against Mountain View on the 9th.
