Recap: Meadowcreek Mustangs vs. Tucker Tigers
The Meadowcreek Mustangs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their seventh straight loss. They took a 62-44 bruising from Tucker. While losing is never fun, Meadowcreek can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 299th, while Tucker is ranked 29th).
Several Mustangs players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Justin Vernon, who scored 15 points. Vernon continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Christian Calhoun, who scored eight points along with nine rebounds.
Meadowcreek's loss was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 3-8. As for Tucker, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-4.
Meadowcreek and Cross Creek will face off at 11:30 a.m. on December 27th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Tucker and Shiloh will face off at 1:30 p.m. on December 27th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Shiloh knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past ten matchups -- so hopefully Tucker likes a good challenge.
