Softball Recap: Paradise Extends Road Winning Streak to Five

Paradise made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Ponder, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Panthers put the hurt on the Lions with a sharp 13-7 victory on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won 11 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Laura Siek, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That home run was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Audrey Valencia, who scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in two of her four plate appearances.

Paradise pushed their record up to 15-6-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.4 runs over those games. As for Ponder, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 9-4.

Coming up, Paradise will venture away from home to take on Memorial at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Ponder, they will welcome Whitesboro at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Lions 3.8, the Bearcats 4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
