For the second straight game, Credo will face off against Point Arena. The Gryphon will square off against the Pirates at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Credo has given up an average of 10.6 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Things were looking good for Credo after they put the first run on the board on Wednesday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They came up short against Point Arena, falling 17-6. The loss continues a trend for the Gryphon in their meetings with the Pirates: they've now lost four in a row.
For Point Arena's part, Jayde Swan made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over six innings while giving up six earned runs off six hits. Swan has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Point Arena let Addison Clark and Millie Carbajal run wild. Clark went 4-for-5 with four runs, two stolen bases, and two doubles, while Carbajal got on base in all five of her plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. That's the most doubles Clark has posted since back in May of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Billie Piper, who went 3-for-4 with three runs and one RBI.
Point Arena kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 16 hits in four consecutive matchups.
Point Arena is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 14.7 runs. As for Credo, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-10.
Friday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Credo has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .546. However, it's not like Point Arena struggles in that department as they've averaged .578. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
