Woodland is a perfect 4-0 against Oak Ridge since March of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. Woodland will venture away from home to take on Oak Ridge at 4:30 p.m. Woodland knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Oak Ridge likes a good challenge.

Woodland came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against Bernie, falling 22-10. The loss put an end to the Cardinals' undefeated start to the season.

Meanwhile, Oak Ridge earned a 5-2 win over Twin Rivers on Thursday.

Kaelyn Deckerd made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out 17 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring four runs and stealing four bases while going 3-for-3.

Deckerd wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Kinsley Bogenpohl, who went 2-for-4 with one RBI.

Woodland's loss dropped their record down to 2-1. As for Oak Ridge, their record is now 3-1.

Woodland took their victory against Oak Ridge in their previous matchup back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 16-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for Woodland since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
