Softball Game Preview: Purdy Eagles vs. Crane Pirates

Purdy has gone 7-1 against Crane recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Eagles will look to defend their home field against the Pirates at 5:00 p.m. The timing is sure in Purdy's favor as the team sits on four straight wins at home while Crane has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.

On Monday, Purdy was able to grind out a solid victory over Wheaton, taking the game 6-1.

Meanwhile, Crane beat Exeter 8-5 on Monday.

Raegan Jackson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She tossed five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Destiny Kerr, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Cammile Hayes was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

Crane was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .387. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .387 or higher in three consecutive games.

Crane's win bumped their record up to 12-8. As for Purdy, their victory bumped their record up to 15-8.
