Football Recap: Seffner Christian Skates Past the Master's Academy with Ease

After only seven points in their last matchup, Seffner Christian made sure to put some points up on the board against The Master's Academy on Friday. The Crusaders simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Eagles 48-7. With the Crusaders ahead 41-0 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

Seffner Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Reid McCollum, who threw for 121 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 88.9% of his passes, and also rushed for 77 yards on only six carries. McCollum also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, picking up 2.5 sacks and making three total tackles. Bo Knox also helped with two TDs in total.

Seffner Christian didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited The Master's Academy to a completion percentage of just 50%. The Crusaders have been improving in that area: they had allowed a completion percentage of 0.6 earlier this season, but they've only allowed one of 0.6 in their last three games.

Seffner Christian's defense also made the game a nightmare for Ashton Bosco, racking up nine sacks. The heavy lifting was done by McCollum and Eli Hargus, who racked up five sacks between them.

Despite the defeat, The Master's Academy saw an underclassman step up: freshman Luke Dezonia rushed for 70 yards and one score.all of that, rushing production came thanks to one massive run

Seffner Christian's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-2. The home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 9.6 points on average over those games. As for The Master's Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season.

Seffner Christian has already played their next matchup, a 49-7 loss against St. Petersburg Catholic on the 24th. As for The Master's Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 28-7 defeat against Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy on the 24th.
