Basketball Recap: Quincy Beats Reading for Their Second Straight Victory

Reading came into Tuesday's match looking for another win against Quincy, but Kendyl Musielewicz wouldn't allow it. The Quincy Orioles strolled past the Reading Rangers with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 44-29 thanks in part to Musielewicz, who went 5 for 10 en route to 22 points and five rebounds. She has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times she's played.

Reading's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Abby Affholter, who posted eight points and eight boards. Another player making a difference was Jenna Londeau, who had nine points.

The win made it two in a row for Quincy and bumps their season record up to 8-6. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 2-12 Maple Valley (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 33.8% over those games). As for Reading, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-7 record this season.

Quincy has already played their next contest, a 53-21 victory against Maple Valley on the 6th. As for Reading, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 47-40 win against Union City on the 6th.
