Basketball Recap: Monday's Victory Is South Beloit's 11th in Last 12 Outings

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Northridge, South Beloit was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They came out on top against the Scales Mound Hornets by a score of 71-64. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 62-46 last Saturday.

When it comes to explaining why Scales Mound lost, don't look at Kaden Duerr. Despite the final result, he went 8 of 9 from beyond the arc on his way to 29 points along with six assists and three steals. Those 29 points gave Duerr a new career-high. Aidan Soppe was another key player, putting up six points in addition to six boards and five assists.

South Beloit is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 18-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.3 points per game. As for Scales Mound, they now have a losing record at 11-12.

South Beloit wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 74-39 win against Faith Christian on the 28th. As for Scales Mound, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 64-62 victory against River Ridge on the 29th.
