Baseball Recap: South Picks Up Fourth Straight Win at Home

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but South ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out the Sutton Sammies/Suzies 8-7. This was payback for the Colonels, who suffered an 11-6 loss the last time these two teams met.

South pushed their record up to 11-3 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 3.5 runs across that stretch. As for Sutton, they now have a losing record of 8-9.

Coming up, South will be playing at home against Sutton/Douglas at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Sutton, they will square off against Worcester Tech at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Sammies/Suzies are facing the Eagles at the right time seeing as the Eagles are stuck on an eight-game losing streak.
