Softball Recap: Blaine Borderites vs. Burlington-Edison Tigers

Blaine was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the Burlington-Edison Tigers. The Borderites were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Blaine saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Shaylie Daniels, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and two runs.

Blaine's defeat dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Burlington-Edison, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-6-1 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Blaine is set to square off against their familiar foe Mount Vernon at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Burlington-Edison will take on rival Nooksack Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
