Volleyball Recap: Bismarck's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Thursday

It was a good run, but Bismarck unfortunately witnessed the end of their 12-match winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of the Valle Catholic Warriors by a score of 3-2. The Indians were not able to make up for their defeat to the Warriors from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

While Bismarck ultimately came up short, they really made Valle Catholic work, particularly in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 24-26, 26-24, 20-25, 25-13, 15-7.

Ayla Hawkins paced Bismarck's offense, picking up 21 kills. Hawkins got some help from Kinsey Hubbs and her 39 assists. Finally, Hawkins was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high two blocks.

Valle Catholic can attribute much of their success to Adyson Rayoum, who had nine digs and three assists. That's the most assists Rayoum has posted over her last 11 matchups.

Bismarck's loss dropped their record down to 17-2. As for Valle Catholic, they pushed their record up to 14-2-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home.

Bismarck wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Portageville on the 27th. As for Valle Catholic, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-2 defeat against Potosi on the 29th.
