Recap: Castle Knights vs. Springfield Southeast Spartans
The Castle Knights won the last time they faced the Springfield Southeast Spartans, and things went their way on Friday too. Castle took down Springfield Southeast 68-49. Given Castle's advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 123rd in Indiana, while Springfield Southeast is ranked 403rd in Illinois), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Leading Castle to victory were Ayden Mcatee and Brady Reiter. Mcatee scored seven points along with two steals, while Reiter scored nine points.
Castle now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Springfield Southeast, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-10.
Castle won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Brownsburg at 2:15 p.m. on January 13th. Brownsburg knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three games -- so hopefully Castle likes a good challenge. Springfield Southeast won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Evansville Central at 9:00 a.m. on January 13th. Evansville Central is coming into the contest on a six-game losing streak.
