Baseball Game Preview: Gould Academy Huskies vs. Berwick Academy Bulldogs

The Gould Academy Huskies will take on the Berwick Academy Bulldogs at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Gould Academy has given up an average of 11.8 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Gould Academy couldn't beat Kents Hill School on Wednesday even though they stacked four runs on them in the fifth inning. Gould Academy came up short against Kents Hill School, falling 18-8. Gould Academy has struggled against Kents Hill School recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Berwick Academy). Everything went their way against Landmark on Wednesday as they made off with a 14-5 victory. The high-scoring effort was just what the Bulldogs needed considering they were shut out in their previous match.

Berwick Academy got a massive performance out of Tucker Demers, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with four stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Demers also hit a double, marking his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Gus Lambert, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Berwick Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Berwick Academy's win bumped their record up to 4-2-1. As for Gould Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.
